Text editor in LAGO Explorer
With LAGO Explorer you’re able to create and edit text components from templates or given examples. Within the editor view, which is accessible from the component tab in the element view, you can begin to edit your text directly. It is also possible to access the editor from the pre-layout view with a double click on the component.

If you want to mark a part of your text for Internet, select the text and press the WWW-button. If you have an HTML pattern you want to mark, you can do this with the <HTML> button. HTML code will be underlined; Internet text will be colored blue.

In the left view you can see the structure your text component and when your text also includes tables you will see them listed as below. Each part of your whole text construct is numbered to make it easier to identify them.

You can also add placeholders into your text. They will be highlighted with a grey background behind them. Just click on the top arrow to show the placeholders bar. This is similar to our image light table. Here you can choose your placeholder type (e.g. Element <context>) and your relative element. Just choose your placeholder field and press the right button to insert your placeholder into your text. Each text and table can be saved by the separate save button in your text and table editor toolbar.

Maybe you will need to insert a list of articles to your text. Therefore click on the button “Insert article list”, choose all your necessary article fields and the format for the list.
If a placeholder need to be converted to text, this can be done by clicking on the 'Convert Placeholder to Plain Text' button in the button bar. The placeholder is converted but the plain text remains.
Settings for the text editor can be modified in the LAGO Explorer preferences under the section Text editor. Here it is possible to to define how information for Article, Price and Property will be displayed in the various pulldown menus in the text editor. For example you can specify that the article name and the order number will be displayed thus making it easier to identify items when working with large amount of data.

In additional it is also possible to define a font color and font background for the different types of content (Placeholders, Corrections, Core texts, HTML and Embedded objects) which can be displayed in the text editor. These options allow you to tailor the display of information in the text editor to your own configuration.
In our next newsletter we will show you the table editor in LAGO Explorer.
